Few
managers or co-ordinators in small organisations or units, or in voluntary
organisations, understand the role of a manager as trainer. Very few job descriptions
for a co-ordinator or manager of such an organisation make reference to any
training or development role. Yet this is one of the most important functions
of any manager, though not necessarily in a formal sense. |
This
unit aims to make managers aware of the basic training functions they will
carry out within the organisation, consciously or otherwise, and help them
develop a more pro-active approach to the process. |
In addition, it offers help in
developing those skills which are part of the training process, such as
making a presentation. |
