Resources for Business Law gives you a bank of materials in several different forms.  This allows variation in delivery methods not only from week to week, but also from class to class and from year to year. (This is an updated and expended version of Exercises in Business Law by Fiona Golby)

FORMAT OF MATERIAL

CROSSWORDS, GRIDS AND WORDSEARCHES

all contain a variety of different law areas.  They can be used to enhance learning in an enjoyable way, their main use being to confirm learning has taken place.  The crosswords and wordsearches are linked and, therefore, the clues are, to a certain extent, interchangeable.

BLANKED HAND-OUTS + ANSWERS

can be used across the syllabus.  They provide a means of either self‑teaching or reinforcing other work.  All blanked handouts have corresponding filled handouts, which can be used in two ways, either as answers to completed the blanks or as handouts in their own right.

MULTI CHOICE QUESTIONS + ANSWERS

are an alternative to using blanked handouts for reinforcing knowledge and cover a variety of different law areas.  They combine well with blank handouts and/or short answer questions.

SHORT ANSWER QUESTIONS + ANSWERS

can be used on their own or to accompany other methods of learning, and are also useful as questions in quizzes, hangman, and so on, or even as a test.

SHORT CASE STUDIES

Sometimes students need to know more, but time may be short, or you want to illustrate a theory in practice.  A short case study is ideal, and could be developed later into a full case study or even an assignment. A selection of different types of case studies is given but, since many textbooks give case studies of a short and long nature, this section is mainly for ideas.

It is always best to give case studies based on real life situations which are of interest to the students, for example, what happens when you buy:

      a.   Faulty jeans

      b.   A hi-fi that blows-up within three weeks of purchase from:

                        i        a friend?

ii        a man in a pub?

                        iii       a shop?

The case studies given are nearly all based on case law.  Thus, not only is each case study based on real life but also each case study will help the student understand the case law itself and how case laws can be used to decide later problems.

ASSIGNMENTS

Like case studies, assignments can be based on any and every section of the Business Law syllabus.  A varied selection is given.  Most assignments have been tried, tested and amended at different times.  Obviously these can be amended to suit the individual requirements of the tutor and the class.
